The free Manteca Thanksgiving dinner this Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Golden West School, 1031 North Main Street, is a community event that is organized by the Manteca Rotary and Sunrise Kiwanis.

They are supported by over 200 volunteers who help feed nearly 3,000 people.

Daniel and Cecilla from the Holiday Inn Express, have offered to decorate the dining area while the Mendoza family prepares the Golden West School multi-purpose room for the big day.

Rob Gross and his family will prepare the turkeys for cooking.

This year, the team from Besites, along with Kitty Walker, will lead the side dishes.

The Combat Vests Association and Manteca Property Services are new recruits this year.
New Hope Church delivers Thanksgiving meals to people who cannot drive, while The Bread of Life takes meals to seniors and the homeless.

The staff from Mountain Mikes Pizza has filtered calls from families wanting to reserve meals.

Many businesses have offered to help with the rising cost of the event, including South San Joaquin Irrigation District, Raymus Homes, Manteca Police Officers Association, Second Harvest Food Bank, Parkwest Casino, Staybridge Suites, Lennar Homes, Fairway Real Estate, Signarama, J&J Printing, Signature Homes, and Precision Automotives.

If you need a meal on Thanksgiving, you are welcome to join the community event at Golden West School for a sit-down meal.

Those who have arranged for a pick up meal will be assisted by recruits organized by Parminder Singh who is handling the drive-thru pick up line.
