1st responders perform drill in & around Ripon High
Ripon fire

An area around Ripon High was closed Monday to thru-traffic as part of a joint emergency response exercise.

The Ripon Consolidated Fire District posted via social media that this comprehensive emergency preparedness held from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. was a multi-agency training, bringing together key public safety organizations – notably, RCFD, Ripon Unified, Ripon Police Department, and Mutual Aid Emergency Medical services.

During this time, North Acacia Avenue and Pine Street experienced partial closures in order to accommodate emergency vehicles and training personnel.

“Residents were advised to select alternate routes during these hours to avoid delays,” RCFD said.

The essential training exercise, according to RCFD, was to strengthen the ability of first responders to manage large-scale emergencies while ensuring coordinated response protocols across agencies.

“While the exercise may generate increased emergency vehicle presence and activity around RHS, all operations were controlled and monitored,” said local firefighters.

In addition, the participating agencies implemented measures to minimize disruption to residents and businesses in the area.

Standard emergency services did remain fully operational throughout the training period, RCFD added.
