The effort targeted anyone who was violating quality of life laws, regarding of housing status.

Almost all of those arrested or cited were homeless.

It included a number wanted for warrants including one for a felony.

The nighttime effort involved a team of seven police officers, two animal control officers, two dispatchers plus His Way and Manteca Property Services.

Animal services participated so if an individual arrested did not have someone to take care of their dog, if they happened to have one, that it would be taken to the city shelter and cared for until such time the dog was retrieved.

His Way was helping to direct the homeless to available services although most declined.

Manteca Property Services cleaned up any illegal encampments.
