Friends of the Library reception honors volunteers

The Tracy Friends of the Library played host to a reception celebrating the efforts of Friends of the Library groups throughout San Joaquin County. Representatives from the various Friends group took that opportunity to meet and share information about what they are doing in their local communities.

Supervisor Bob Elliott from the San Joaquin Board of Supervisors thanked the Friends and gave each group a proclamation honoring their work. Colleen Foster of Strong Libraries – Strong Communities also spoke about the group’s efforts to strengthen the county library system.

Manteca scored three times each with two outs on Friday while getting gutsy pitching efforts from Cameron Jimenez and Jimmy Burns in a 3-1 win over visiting Oakdale that has the Buffaloes leading the pack in a heated race for the Valley Oak League title.
