LATHROP - The Lathrop High School Athletic Booster Club will be hosting a benefit dinner / dance on Saturday, May 15.

This first-ever event benefiting the Spartan programs will take place at the River Islands at Lathrop office at 73 W. Stewart Road (from southbound Interstate 5, take the Manthey Road exit, turn right, and take a left on Stewart).

Dinner will consist of tri-tip beef, pasta, salad, drink and a dessert.

Dress calls for casual attire.

The dinner / dance will begin at 6 p.m. with a no-host bar. Dinner is scheduled at 7 o’clock, followed by dancing throughout the evening.

Cost is $30 per person or $50 for couples.

Del Webb Women of Woodbridge is hosting a fundraiser, “Take a Sip for Scholarship” Wine Social for the East Union Academic Booster Club on Thursday, May 13, from 5 to 7 p.m.  

There will be six wineries from Lodi, Tracy, Livermore, and Manteca (Delicato Family Vineyards) pouring wines.  

The East Union foods class will help prepare some of the appetizers while the Jazz Band will be performing.  

Manteca author Debra Ann Ristau will have copies of her new book “Lodi on the Label” available for $27.95.  She will also be present at the wine social signing her book for anyone who purchases a copy, as well. She will make a donation from each book she sells.

It’s a family event complete with a rib and tri-tip feed, barn dance, and auctions with big-ticket items galore.

While you’re having fun with the entire family, you can also celebrate with the thought that you are contributing to a worthy cause.

That’s the first annual Family Rib/Tri-tip Feed and Barn Dance fund-raising event for St. Anthony’s School sponsored by the Parent-Teacher Group.

The all-you-can-eat ribs and tri-tip feed extravaganza will be held Saturday, May 15, inside the school gym at the corner of North Fremont Avenue and Sutter Street. It will begin at 5:30 p.m. with no-host cocktails, followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. and auctions and dancing until 10 p.m. Included in the menu will be baked potato, salad and rolls. Wine will be served along with the dinner as well. Tickets are $30 each for adults, $15 for children age 4 to 12, and free to children under age 4. Tickets can be purchased at the school office during regular business hours.

The highlight of the evening will be the silent and live auctions.
