In Saturday’s front page story “City asks police: Give up raises for 2 years, forgo uniform allowances & pay more PERS” it was incorrectly stated that officers are being asked to “pay 5% percent more to their Public Employees Retirements System that would kick their contribution from $260 to $445”. The 5 percent more in PERS payments raises an officer’s contribution an additional $260 to $445 on top of the 9% ($468 to $802) that each employee already pays for their self.
