More than a dozen soccer coaches and players from 12 different countries will be in Manteca in August for the annual soccer camp offered through Crossroads Grace Community Church.
The camp is aimed at giving youth ages 6 to 14 a chance to learn and develop their soccer skills. But what separates this sport event apart is that it also challenges the young participants how to develop their character and study the Bible at the same time.
The Ambassadors in Sport soccer camp in Manteca, which is now in its 8th year, will be held Aug. 2 to 6 at Northgate Community Park. Events will be held Tuesday to Friday, Aug. 2-5, from 3 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday, Aug. 6, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The young participants will be learning soccer skills from the Ambassador missionaries who are either high-level coaches or soccer players in their own countries. Bible studies will be held during breaks in between the soccer lessons.
About 15 Ambassadors in Sport from different countries in the world are expected for this summer’s soccer camp. They will be joined by other soccer coaches and assistant coaches from Crossroads Grace and other churches in the area.
The soccer camp will conclude on Saturday, Aug. 6, with a barbecue.
You can register online at www.ambassadorssoccercamps.com or call Crossroads Grace Community Church at 239-5566 or Pastor Jim Todd at 484-8734 to register or to get more information. The cost is $75.
