Manteca’s Del Webb at Woodbridge community will host its fifth annual car show from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m on Saturday.

Some 100 cars are registered for this year’s show which will again raise funds for Manteca’s Second Harvest Food Bank.

There is no charge for spectators, and participants who display cars will contribute a tax-deductible registration fee benefiting Second Harvest.  In addition to a wide variety of cars, the show will feature DJ entertainment, hot dogs and root beer floats for a nominal price, a bake sale and raffle for impressive prizes.

“This year’s show will be the best yet.” said Bill Barnhart, President and Head Lugnut of the Wheels of Woodbridge. “Some of the very unique cars on display lakeside include a 1966 Corvair with a V8 engine, rare 1960 Ford Starliner, 1949 Olds 88 convertible, vintage corvettes and T-Birds, and a 1936 Ford Roadster.”

Peoples’ Choice trophies will be awarded in eight categories:  Hot Rods, Trucks, Classic Stock, Classic Modified, Muscle Car, Sports Car, Miscellaneous, and Best of Show.

All proceeds from the show, including the raffle, food concession, bake sale and sponsorships will be given to Second Harvest to help feed the needy throughout Manteca and surrounding communities.

According to Barnhart, “Del Webb at Woodbridge residents consider ourselves to be part of the greater Manteca community and this is one of many ways we give back to the community.  Last year the show raised $3,500 for Second Harvest and this year our goal is $7,000.”

The 2012 show, planned and coordinated by the Wheels of Woodbridge Car Club, features these Platinum sponsors: Del Webb, PMZ Real Estate, RJ Lawn Care, Steve’s Mobile Sunscreens, McVey Insurance Agency, P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Service, Dominic Martos Insurance Agency, Taquerias La Estrella, and Van Berg & Associates Insurance Marketing Inc.

Everyone is welcome to come see these great classic cars, have an inexpensive lunch, vote for your choice in all eight categories, and find out just what the Del Webb lifestyle is all about.  Coming north from Lathrop Road on Union Road, turn left at Del Webb Boulevard and follow the green “Car Show” signs.
