The Sun Post has ceased publication on Friday.
The free distribution tabloid weekly had been published for almost four years.
The founding publishers, Celica Drake and Carlon Perry, partnered with the Tracy Press at one point and finally transferred ownership to the Tracy Press at the start of 2009.
The Sun Post’s downtown office in the 100 block of West Yosemite Avenue was vacant on Friday while the newspaper’s sign had been removed.
It was the third Manteca-based weekly to close since 1991 starting with the Manteca News owned by the late Antone Raymus and then the Manteca Bee owned by McClatchy Newspapers that also publishes the Modesto Bee.
