TRACY – The Nissan Sentra has what many consumers want in a small car.

Try affordability, fuel efficiency, and safety, for starters.

Ranked as one of the top affordable small cars – that’s according to a recent review by U.S. News and World Report – the 2012 Sentra is available at Tracy Nissan, 3195 N. Naglee Rd.

Included is the special edition four-door sedan featuring the power sliding glass moon roof and 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels. Couple that with USB iPod interface, Bluetooth technology for hands-free phone system, XM satellite radio, Nissan intelligent key and leather-wrapped steering wheel.

The Sentra also sports a distinct front and rear fascias along with a sports grille, special appearance headlights and taillights, side sill spoilers, and rear deck lid spoiler with integrated brake lights.

In addition, the car has continuous variable transmission, independent strut front suspension, and power-assisted vented front disc / rear drum brakes.

Under the hood is a 2.0-liter dual overhead cam four-cylinder engine capable of 140 horsepower and 147 lb-ft torque.

In these times, fuel efficiency matters. Based on that, the Sentra gets an estimated 27 miles per gallon city – or 22 mpg to 32 mpg based on one’s driving habits – and 34 mpg highway (28 to 40 mpg is listed as the expected range for most drivers).

When it comes to safety features, this car is equipped with an advanced air bag system with dual-stage supplemental front air bags, front seat-mounted side impact air bags, roof-mounted curtain side impact air bags, front-seat active head restraints, child-safety rear door locks, anti-lock brakes, tire pressure monitoring system, and traction control system.
