It was a long time in the plans, but the new state-of-the-art sales offices for USA Motors is finally open.

Gone is the 500-square-foot portable unit at the Lathrop dealership located at 16201 Harlan Road.

“For six or seven years, it was very tight fit in there with office and sales staff until we opened our service center (at 1683 E. Louise Ave.) two years ago,” said owner and operator Steve Ramsey.

He’s thankful for the City of Lathrop for their support of the 1,700-square-foot facility by Progressive Design of Manteca.

“Everyone who worked on this project is local,” said Ramsey, who was raised in Manteca and attended East Union High.

The new building was completed about a month ago. No news of a grand opening as of yet.

USA Motors has been at the same location for nearly 10 years. Ramsey, who works with his wife Rhoda, said “location, location, location” played an important role in his business.

“We get a lot of exposure being off Interstate 5,” Ramsey said. “The Internet also has been huge.”

The website (www.usamotors.com) allows folks to shop for a car in the comfort of their home. They can also request the make, model, year, mileage, color, and price range of a vehicle by going online.

Along with loyal customers from Manteca, Tracy and Lathrop, Ramsey has sold vehicles to be shipped to Canada, Russia and other parts of Europe.

The new home for USA Motors has a modern look with lobby / waiting room and several stations for the sales staff.

In addition, the dealership expanded by another acre and is looking to add more vehicles and trailers to its inventory, according to Ramsey.
