Harold Otis Hodson, 91, passed away, November 30, 2024, in Escalon, California. He was born December 4, 1932, in Manteca, to parents, Theron and Norma Hodson.
Harold was the great-grandson of Joshua Cowell, the founder of Manteca. After graduating from Manteca High School, Harold enlisted in the United States Army in 1953, serving in the Korean war for nearly 17 months. After being honorably discharged, Harold married Shirley Souza in 1956. They spent 64 years together before Shirley’s passing in 2020. Harold retired from Pacific Bell after 36 years as a cable splicer. He enjoyed fishing and hunting; he even had a side business working on small equipment such as lawnmowers and chain saws.
Harold is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Hodson, and his parents, Theron, and Norma Hodson. He is survived by his children, Lisa Harvel (Rick) of Idaho, Kelli Deboard (Rick) of Pine Grove, and Terri Rocha (Bob) of Escalon. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Wesley Harvel (Kristy) of Utah, Jennifer Harvel of Idaho, and Matthew Rocha (Grace) of Escalon as well as six great-grandchildren.
