This year’s Christmas Guardian Angel Program is projected to provide “wishes” to over 500 youngsters throughout the area.

That’s according to Ray of Hope Children Services CEO Laura Saunders.

“This is such a big program (for Ray of Hope) so we have to gear up now,” she said on Wednesday.

Her non-profit organization will be taking names of families and individuals who are interested in sponsoring a child via the Christmas Guardian Angel Program come the holiday season.

Included will be scrolls for those youngsters who are referrals – such agencies are the San Joaquin County Child Protective Services, Child Abuse Protection Council, and Human Service Agency, to name a few – to Ray of Hope.

Each child will have three wish-list items that any local business, organization, or community member can help fulfill.

The Christmas scrolls will be available in November.

“We are in the process of taking names and contact information,” Saunders said.
