Seth Johnson was one of many attending Tuesday’s Thanksgiving lunch at the Thomas Toy Community City provided by Inner-City Action

Some may view Seth Johnson as not having much.

But in his heart, he has plenty.

Originally from Turlock, Johnson was among those Tuesday enjoying a special Thanksgiving lunch – smoked turkey and ribs with all the fixing along with dessert – inside the Thomas Toy Community Center.

More importantly, he cherishes his spiritual support.

For that, Johnson, 57, is thankful for Jeff Hunter, who is the senior pastor of Free Will Baptist Church in Manteca.

“I knew him from Bible college,” Johnson noted.

Nearly two years ago, he experienced personal problems including injuries. “I had always worked,” said Johnson, who listed driving buses as one of his jobs.

Life unraveled for him as he watched his mom slowly die following ailments including heart issues.

Johnson, who dealt with some bad issues, found solace through the Bible, most notably, in the readings of the Book of Job.

He came to Manteca via Hunter and the Free Will Baptist Church, where he currently resides.

Johnson was thrilled to be at the Thanksgiving event hosted by the Inner-City Action.

“This is massive,” he said, enjoying the food, fellowship, and fun that the day provided.
