The taxman may cometh on April 15th, but Jack in the Box restaurants will giveth on Friday, April 16, by offering guests a free small order of the chain's new French fries on that day. No purchase is necessary, and the giveaway is limited to one order per guest for the day.

Relay for Life hosts survivors this Saturday

This year the Manteca Relay for Life Committee is hard at work to reach its goals. The volunteer members are striving to become a Million Dollar Relay. What that means is that if they hit their fundraising goal of $167,000 for this year's event, they will have raised $1,000,000 in 11 years.

Drive-thru dinner benefit Friday for 2008 Sierra High graduate

Fagundes Meats of Manteca is catering the drive-thru dinner fund-raiser for 2008 Sierra High School graduate Sierra Johnson who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, or ALL, just before Thanksgiving last year. She is being treated at the Oakland Children's Hospital where she is scheduled to have a bone marrow transplant next month.
